Pravin Tambe had a very unusual cricket career. He made his professional cricket debut when he was 41 years old. In a era where people retire at that age, Pravin decided to start his career. Growing up, he played for the Shivaji Park Gymkhana team. Primarily, he thought of becoming a fast bowler but turned into a leg spinner after his coach’s advice. In a matter of no time, he has become really good at spinning the bowl. In fact, he is a right-hand batter too. However, he is primarily well-known for impressive spin bowling.
Unlike others who usually join an IPL team through first-class cricket, he made his professional cricket debut through IPL. At age 41, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 10 lakh INR. It was a bold decision by RR to buy a player who has never played a first-class match. However, he has definitely proved that he was definitely the purchase through his top-class bowling. After being with RR for the next two seasons, he has played with Gujarat Lions & Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
